![]() The insulation was going to be a little tricky as he didn’t have access to any rubber. The coil was the next simplest part, being that it was just going to be an insulated spindle of copper wire with a hole in the middle big enough to fit the magnet in. The magnet was the easiest part, it was either going to be a rod of iron or steel that had been magnetized. The generator was going to be split into three parts, the coil, the magnet, and the mechanism. He might not have everything he needed yet, but he could definitely make a start on the designs. After some deliberation, he realised that now he had the bars of metal, he could think about designing an electrical generator to be used for their mana generating experiments. Once Lafalla left, he began to look back at the runes, but realised he wasn’t really going to make much more headway at the moment, not on this set of runes, so he began to think of something else he could do. No-one has shown up yet, so I should be good on my own for a while yet.” I was wondering if there was something you needed me for, or should I just carry with what I was doing?” “Oh, I was just focussing on making sure I had everything I need for when someone comes here for help and really didn’t want to lose my trail of thought and miss something. “That’s ok, what were you doing?” he asked. “Hey, sorry about waving you off a minute ago” she told him. As he was beginning to think about the possibility of arranging another expedition, Lafalla made her presence known. It was a shame he had discarded it when they had found the orb, and neither he, Lafalla, or Master Vunasa had thought to pick it back up. He realised that there was likely more runes on the inside or something that would dictate what would have happened when he broke it. His mind flicked back to the piece of bark he had pried off the tree, and despite only having the 'hole' time inscribed, it did not behave like that rune should have. What if they hadn't found everything? If they'd missed something else that might have been important, it could be the case that they can't solve the whole thing without it. As he began to write down all of the possible meanings behind a particular set of runes, a thought occurred to him. The more and more he looked into this discovery, the less certain he was that they had actually found what brought him here, though he didn't have any doubts that he was meant to find it. Confused, he returned to his room and began to look through the section of runes he was studying instead, hoping to make a little more progress today. He didn't get much of an answer however, as when he entered her room, she quickly waved him away. He quickly left to check if Lafalla needed him to do anything. “Ok, thank you Master Vunasa” James replied.Īnd once again, James was alone in his room. We will likely see you next next week” he told him. “James, we are just heading off to the traders. He turned around to see Master Vunasa standing in the doorway. ![]() He made another note of his observations, when he heard a knock at the doorframe. James and Lafalla headed off to their rooms, and James began to do his normal checks on the orb, and unsurprisingly, there was no change. “Now then, we are almost finished getting everything ready, so how about the two of you sort out anything that you need to do this morning so you’re ready to be on your own” “I do have to agree there” James replied. Due to how new you are to all of this, I’m not going to ask you to get involved with that, but I am going to ask that you do whatever Lafalla tells you to, though I imagine that’s what happens between the two of you” Master Vunasa joked. “You probably aren’t aware James, but we often get a few visitors that want their magical purchases checked over to make sure there aren’t any issues. As you had a chance to visit them yesterday, I’m going to ask that you two stay here today and keep the well open for any visitors, especially after we weren’t open yesterday, though I’m sure people understand with recent events and all” he told them We’re just checking the last few items we wish to sell today and then we’re going to visit the traders. ![]() “How are you doing after the excitement of the past few days?” “We’re doing good, master” Lafalla replied. “Ah, Lafalla, James! How are you doing?” asked Master Vunasa upon noticing their arrival. It was obvious that they weren’t quite prepared for the traders after the previous few days’ events, and were only now doing the final sorting, creating piles of mana crystals and enchanted items that they wished to sell. There were a number of different items scattered around the courtyard as Master Vunasa, Master Cellone and Zarala sorted through a number of items that they wished to trade. The Kynling well was a bit of a mess when James and Lafalla arrived the next morning.
